The Virtual Design Process

Thank you for your interest in my landscape design services. I’m happy to offer virtual landscape consultations, which are a flexible and effective way to address design questions, problem-solving and plant selection without the need for an on-site visit.

You may only wish a one-time consultation if you have an established yard and want to identify unknown plants, solve specific problems, get advice on a small area or tree selection, for instance.

During a virtual consultation, I gather information from you about what you are interested in solving.

You can provide photos taken on your phone. You can also provide short narrated videos to describe existing plants and areas you wish to address. This allows us to discuss your goals, challenges and preferences in detail. I can help troubleshoot specific landscape issues such as difficult planting areas, drainage concerns, privacy needs, or improving the overall look and functionality of your outdoor space.

Plant selection is often a key part of the process. Based on your location, sun exposure, soil conditions, water needs and maintenance preferences, I can recommend plants that are well-suited to your site and climate. I use the PlantMaster application to choose the best plants for your situation. garden plan example - plant gallery I email you a link with plant photos and descriptions to review. An easy feedback form that notes your “likes”, “maybes” and “no thanks” is automatically sent back to me. Your choices are narrowed down easily and it’s fun to use. I provide guidance on plant placement, spacing and care to help ensure long-term success.
